Cumbre Kids values: a message for parents about our children's content
Hello Parents,
We deeply value the trust of the families who listen to us. We know every family raises their children with unique values, and we want you to understand how we think about the content we produce, the messages we share, and our role in supporting families like yours.
We understand how important it is to be mindful of what children see and hear. That’s why we want to share the foundations that guide the values in our episodes:
Our priority is to create content that families love and that inspires children to live with learning and connection.
We are not a political organization.
We believe parents are the greatest influence in their children’s lives, and our role is to support you as best we can.
Most of our content is simple and non-controversial. We strive to make content that is safe and easy to enjoy for the families who listen to us.
However, sometimes topics arise that may stir strong feelings or involve tradeoffs between certain values. In these infrequent instances, these are the questions we ask ourselves:
Does the content include political or controversial messages? (avoid whenever possible)
Is the content directly relevant to the episode focus? (remove if not directly relevant to the episode content)
Is it presented in a way that’s proportional to its importance in the episode? (do not allow it to distract disproportionately)
Sometimes we make mistakes, and we try to learn from them. Other times, we have to make difficult decisions between conflicting values. And we do the best we can.
We know not everyone will always agree with us. But we hope you understand that we work hard to develop content that you and your family can enjoy together.
If you have any concerns about what is presented, please contact me, Robert Carpenter, Executive Producer of Cumbre Kids. You can do so through the form on this page or by email at: robert@cumbremedia.com.
Sincerely,
Robert Carpenter
